the fat catA mouse was roaming around a house when he spied a big fat cat
He thought to himself I can have some fun if I just steer clear of that
He ran along the back of the couch as fast as he was able
And he hid behind a blue and white cup on the edge of the coffee table
All the time he was making sure that the cat was in his sights
Then in walked a man with a big moustache and turned off all the lights
Now he couldn't see the cat at all that man had messed things up
So he sat real still till he had a plan he would hide inside the cup
As he slowly maneuvered around in the dark he was being quite Wiley and cautious
He almost tripped over the tv control and the tension was making him nauseous
He maneuvered his way around a cold can of pop and a coaster made of Wood
And with one quick dash over two magazines it was all going frightfully good.
He was balancing on the handle when the room was filled with light
With a great big jump and a mighty splash he went careering out of sight
He landed in the still warm tea that was left at the bottom of the cup
As he sat there quiet and feeling pleased he started going up and up
He was being transported through the air by an unseen force as yet
It was in the kitchen on the draining board when the two of them finally met
As she set the cup down on the drainer he jumped up and grabbed the rim
He was out in a flash as he made his mad dash he was filled with vigour and vim
She had such a shock as he went running off and she screamed and she grabbed a pan
But he didn't look back like a sprinter on the track he just ran and ran and ran
He shot down the curtain and was off across the floor as she took her aim with the pan
Then in came the cat with an evil grin being very closely followed by the man
The pan hit the cat in the middle of the back and it flew across the floor in a spin
The man stood on the cat in the panic and all that and he went head first in the bin
The mouse went racing down the hall jumped up two stairs then in the baby's pram
The man stood in the doorway in a right old state with his hair full of butter and jam
The cat flew in a rage he was purple in face there was trouble brewing sure as eggs is eggs
The mouse was under cover feeling very safe then the baby moved the covers with his legs
The big fat cat was on the prowl he was sneaking up the stairs real sly
When he got a glimpse of the mouses tail out the corner of his beady eye
He tried to squeeze through the stair rails but his belly was far to fat
Then the mouse heard the puffing and the panting and he knew it was the evil cat
He made a leap from the edge of the pram and he landed quite softly in a plant
The cat came lumbering down the stairs he was livid in a right old rant
He was prowling round the plant stand waiting for the the mouse to appear
But the mouse wasn't budging he was hidden from view resting up till the coast was clear
Then the cat settled down for a long long wait the mouse couldn't stop there forever
He lied there for ages till he fell fast asleep and the mouse thought its now or never
The mouse shimmied down the leg of the stand and dropped to the floor real quiet
The cat was in dreamland and fretting like mad he dreamt he'd been put on a diet
The mouse carefully crept past the face of the cat knowing freedom was ever so near
Then he opened his eyes you could see his surprise and the mouse was just frozen with fear
As he opened his mouth and was ready to pounce his head started spinning with stars
The baby was playing in his pram nearby and he threw out his biggest of cars
Like an Exocet missile it hit with a thud and the cat was left reeling and dazed
The mouse gained composure and shot down the hall and the baby kept on playing un'phazed
Now the mouse had to hurry and make his escape cos that cat would be seething with rage
So he ran in the toilet and slid down a pipe till he came to what looked like a cage
It was a strong piece of mesh that was put round the hole to stop things like mice getting in
But he knew that the corner had rusted away and he'd just make it through being thin
He was off down the path and then over the lawn and into the big garden shed
And he went to the box where he'd made a nice home and the kids were both ready For bed
So he tucked them both in and he told them the story of a cat that was fury and fat
How he tried to catch mice and was cunning and evil then he thought id best leave it at that
